PROJECT 1

INSTRUCTIONS

Project 1 - Hard Surface Modeling
Choose a hard surface object within these categories: ventricle, weapon, robot, or machine. Model it with the reference.

Progress
My idea was to model a laser gun, but unfortunately due to the dateline and some errors, I changed it to a Malay sword.

I chose the Malay sword for its distinctive wavy blade, which sets it apart from other weapons.

FEEDBACK

  • The sword is too thick.
  • The blade should be in the middle, as you can see in the picture there was a middle line in it.
  • Find more references for the side view.
  • Use the bevel tool and make two loops beside the middle and beside parts to make it sharp.
  • Soften the shadow and make it look natural.

REFLECTIONS

Blender has been challenging for me. In this project, I had to redo the guns and the sword an average of 6-7 times due to mistakes that were hard to understand. This led to significant stress and frustration, especially with the deadline approaching. I realize I need to find more tutorials and practice to improve my skills.
