PROJECT 2

INSTRUCTIONS

Project 2A: Walk Cycle This task requires us to draw our character walking, using the Survive Kid as a reference to create a series of walking movements.

Progress
We try our first outcome using the stick man to understand the pose of walking.

Figure 1.1 Trial Out

I use Procreate to draw because I prefer drawing directly on the screen rather than using a tablet.

Figure 1.2 Trial Out

It doesn't look like the stick figure I drew, it looks more like jelly.

Final Outcome

Project 2B: Jump Animation

Same as P2A, but create a series of jump movements.

FEEDBACK

Walk

  • The back leg should stay in the same position without moving while the front leg lands.
  • When transitioning from rough to tie-down, ensure the character doesn't repeat the same position, as this will cause the movement to pause and make the animation look less smooth.
  • The front and back legs are not obvious.

Jump

  • Create additional in-between frames to make the movement smoother.

REFLECTIONS

This was the first animation video I created. Although the walking cycle looks a bit off, I’m still satisfied with the final result. In Project 2, I became more familiar with frame timing and basic movement poses. Additionally, I continued to develop my skills in Procreate.
