Project 1: Pre-production for 2D Animation Project Our task is to create a character based on its description. Then come out with the turnaround sheet, pose sheet (5 poses), and character facial expressions (5 expressions - focusing on chest up).

I decided to draw a witch with no particularly distinctive features.

If you watch Teen Titian before you would know Raven. She was a superheroine. Her half-demon heritage gives Raven powerful Magic-based abilities.

Project 1B: Layout Design
Our task is to create one layout using perspective by adding the color theme and details.

Progress
I want to draw a scene set in an underground chamber. In the center, there was a staircase similar to an altar. A witch floated above the altar, lost in meditation. The purple crystals inlaid on the walls of the chamber emitted a soft and strange light, illuminating the chamber.

FEEDBACK

Project 1A:

• The color for the costume can be any dark color but not whole black.
• While drawing, make sure the character is in a natural position. 
• An angry expression can try focusing on its mouth, showing the teeth closing and the mouth is wide open.
• Make the pose more obvious (poses 1 and 2).

Project 1B:

• Can have more improvement in perspective.
• Find more references.
• Apply highlight to the object.
• As the view sight is low, the object should be narrow (upper part) to wide (lower part)
• Use the three-row grid to separate the layout.

REFLECTIONS

Raven is one of the characters I like in Teen Titans. Although she was a half-demon, her style and power magic met my ideal witch expectations. I feel satisfied with my character design, but not with the layout design. I should have improved more in my layout skills.
