~ Recap in Exercise of Design Principles ~
Watch the lecture recording before starting the design...
- Design principle blog
- Topic 1.1: Elements and principles of design
- Topic 1.2: Gestalt Theory and Contrast
- Topic 2: Emphasis and Balance
- Topic 3: Repetition and Movement
- Topic 4: Harmony and Unity
- Topic 5: Symbol, Image, and Word
*After watching the video, I understand what I need to include in my blog and learn about the design principles.
I need to choose two design principles that I have learned in the recording. Based on my selection, create one design for each.
My Selected Design Principles:
Movement:
- A design that creates visual effects that the object is moving. It leads our sight to follow the direction of flow.
- It creates a visual image when the object seems to move.
- Movements are commonly created by shapes, forms, lines, and curves in visual images.
Example:
Emphasis:
- A design having a focus point in it. To show out its different
- Colour (bright & dark), size (big and small), shape (round and square), and value (more and less) are the common elements in emphasis.

Idea Explorations
'The Covid' is the theme I explored to design first. The purpose of having the theme 'The COVID-19' is to show how people react and take part during COVID-19.
Contrast
Movement
Using sanitizer like perfume.
Running, jumping, and landing while spraying the sanitizer.
Final Design
My final theme is about life.
Every living thing on Earth is unique. No matter where we are or how similar we are, no one can direct our own life. the hands inside the poster present the style of the people directing their world. The design principle used in this poster is emphasis.
