Sketch

Figure 3.1 Idea 1

My first idea was about war. Black tiger (unfiltered water) and blue tiger (filtered water) are fighting against each other. This concept is related to yin-yang two opposite sides they are in the same form but they are enemies.

Figure 3.2 Idea 2

My second idea related to showering. The noble tiger sits under the rain and looks up to the sky, enjoying the baptism of the rainy day. Under the washing of the rain, its hair gradually becomes clean.

Final Outcome

Title: "Wash Away"

Description

In this project, my chosen target within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is SDG 6: Clean Water & Sanitation. The underlying concept of this work is to symbolize the act of washing away, similar to removing dirt or impurities.

Malaysia, being a tropical country, experiences primarily sunny and rainy weather. The story of this artwork revolves around a tiger covered in dirt, representing unfiltered water, finding solace in the rain as it acts as a natural shower, transforming the water into filtered and purified form.

The central focus of this piece is the tiger's body, portrayed using a gradient of colors ranging from blue to black. The purpose behind utilizing a blue-to-black gradient is to visually convey the process of purification and washing away. The blue hue signifies filtered water, light blue represents the act of filtering, grey represents water in the process of being filtered, and black represents unfiltered water. To complement the composition, I incorporated clouds as the background, which, upon closer inspection, reveal raindrops, further emphasizing the cleansing nature of the artwork.

Reflection

Engaging in this project was an intriguing experience, given its competitive nature. However, it presented a challenge as I also had to manage another exercise simultaneously. The proximity of the submission dates caused a sense of urgency, which ultimately affected my overall satisfaction with the final outcome.

This project has highlighted areas in which I can significantly improve, particularly in terms of overall composition and spacing. I recognize the need to refine these aspects to create more visually appealing designs. Additionally, further familiarization with the software is necessary to enhance my efficiency and proficiency in utilizing its features effectively.
